What is Civics? Civics is the study of the rights and duties of citizens.
Course Description - The primary content for the course pertains to the principles, functions, and organization of government; the origins of the American political system; the roles, rights, responsibilities of United States citizens; and methods of active participation in our political system. The course is embedded with strong geographic and economic components to support civic education instruction. The units are broken down as follows:

EOC Exam – Civics is an EOC course with a final exam that will count 30% of your final grade. It will take place in early May. The test includes only items related to Civics--not Geography or Economics. This course is designed to prepare you to be successful on this exam, but it will also require your dedication. Study Session will be offered before and after school starting in the 2016 school year.
